Anne Obcena has been a member of the St. Maria Goretti teaching staff since 2018.

She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. After college, she taught school for 10 years in the Janesville and Milton school districts before moving to Madison and starting a family.

When her children were younger she took a break from teaching and owned a Certified In-Home Child Care, serving several wonderful St. Maria Goretti families. She feels fortunate to have returned to the teaching profession as one of the 4th grade teachers at a school filled with so much joy, love, and spirituality.

Anne grew up in Cadott, Wisconsin, a small town near Eau Claire. Her husband was her classmate at a Catholic grade school with a graduating class of 15 students! They live in Madison and have been parish members of St. Maria Goretti since 2004. They have three sons, two that attend St. Maria Goretti and one who attends Memorial High School.

She spends a lot of her free time cheering on their sons at soccer, basketball, and baseball games. She also loves running, and her favorite routes are the Military Ridge Trail and the Ice Age Trail.
