Greetings from the Art Room!

Kristin Quackenbush has been the art teacher at St. Maria Goretti since 2006. She began after the previous art teacher, Marion Russo, retired. Marion was actually her elementary art teacher at Elm Lawn Elementary in Middleton. Kris says she was a wonderful art teacher and an inspiring mentor to her at St. Maria Goretti.

Kris earned a bachelor's of arts degree in Italian Language from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by an Art Teaching Certification from the University of South Dakota. After that, she was a stay-at-home mom to her son until he was in fourth grade and she started this teaching position.

Of course, she has a huge interest in art. Her favorite art media is glass. She shows her glass art at various local art fairs and loves to share her art with others. To learn more about her work, visit her art website at

She also loves theater, and enjoys seeing shows at the American Players Theater and the Overture Center, and even some operas. Her son is currently studying opera and plans to make a career of it.
