Lauren Henderson (Ms. Lauren) is starting her first year at St. Maria Goretti in 2020, although she is a proud alumnus of the school from her time as a student here!
After graduating from Edgewood High School in Madison, Wisconsin, she completed her undergraduate studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in Psychology and Spanish for the Health Professions. While at Marquette, she worked as a research assistant for an autism social skills program (PEERS), served as a Retreat Leader, and was a member of the executive board for Active Minds, a mental health awareness organization. She received her master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Lauren and her husband, Daniel, were married in 2017 and are active members and Confirmation teachers at their parish in Portage, Wisconsin. They also adopted a pup, Willa, last year.
Prior to this position, she became certified as a Trauma Professional (CTP), and worked as a mental health service coordinator and skill development professional for children. She also presented at a statewide conference and other area schools on the topic of addressing trauma in the classroom.
When not at school, you can find her baking, gardening, reading, enjoying the outdoors with her husband and pup, and fixing up their 140-year-old historic home!
